The door staff were rude. They just looked at us when we rolled in our luggage. An employee shouted at us as we were approaching reception saying there was no early check in. They did not entertain any request for early check in. We came off a long flight and were tired.
The facilities were good
Internet is very bad. We only get 0.01mb per sec
Close to station. Room is very comfortable. It help us relax after a long day.
The hotel was not very good.
The wifi was really bad, it did not work. The food from the lobby bar was too expensive, an orange juice 15 us dollars. The staff was not very helpful on many occasions. The food of the room-service was tasting very badly, it seemed as re-heated and not cooked at the moment, not fresh. Too expensive for what they offer.
The concierge was good and helped us book a guide.
Good option for a short stay in Kyoto.
Access to pool and fitness centre is not included in the price of the room, something that was not clear when booking for this hotel. Moreover, the fitness centre is too small to be considered a good option for a good training.
The hotel is very close to the train station, something crucial for travellers in Japan willing to visit different cities. Service is excellent even if some of the staff have some difficulties to speak english. Bedroom is large and well designed.
Perfect hotel 5 minutes walk from station
The breakfast is too expensive. All facilities have to be paid extra, for example swimming pool, gym. The quilt is a bit heavy.
The free shuttle service from/to Kyoto station is definitely an added value. However the hotel should give more indication where to find the shuttle. You should exit from "Hachijo exit" of station and all hotel shuttles gather there outside. The room is quite spacious considering Japanese standard. Super clean. Loved all bathroom amenities. The shower has very big volume water coming out. Staff was nice and friendly. Check in and checkout service was quite fast. Considering what we paid in Osaka I would say Righa Kyoto has very good value. We'd definitely come back again.
Great location, minutes from Kyoto station. Comfortable, friendly, nice room.
A minor thing - the light switch in my room was on the bed headboard and was a bright blue which was annoying when trying to sleep or if you stir during the night you can't help but notice it.
Great Location and a Modern, Clean Hotel.
The hotel is L-shaped with one wing overlooking the parking. The views from this room aren't that great. Its also a bit of a walk from the lobby to this wing. But this is just being picky. Its not much of a downside.
The location is a 10 min. walk from Kyoto Station or you can use the every 15 min. complimentary shuttle. The rooms are clean with a large air purifier and well stocked toiletries. The staff was very cheerful and their english speaking concierge are an added bonus as they are easily able to help with the local information. Breakfast spread was large and quite good. They have an indoor heated pool but there is an extra charge for it. The location being close to Kyoto station means easy day trips to Nara, Inari by train and even by the bus which takes you to the far out temples.
Convenient for the station/business - not the touristic sites/strolls
Extra fee 500Yen for a very small gym (2x threadmills, 2x stationary bikes)...
Close (but not so much) to the station - Quite a few restaurants closeby. Very quiet.
